Entries on course recorder
Switched off: Switched off at port. Give date and sign on paper.
Switched on: Switched on prior departure. Give date and sign on paper.
Underway: Give date and sign on paper everyday when at underway.

Alarm
Depends on the manufacturers. Since course recorder is not a mandatory equipment there is no performance standard.

Maintenance
Ensure course is recording correctly.
Ensure date is correct.
Ensure paper is adequate.
Ensure stylus is in contact.
Ensure bulbs is working.
